My eyes lift at her last statement, and I see four shapes come out of the shadows into my small circle of light. I don’t look around, trusting the fence we installed last year to keep my nude body hidden from our neighbors. I do so without hesitation, folding my clothes neatly and quickly, setting them on the floor inside the door before walking out into the sunlit yard.
